Kensington Community Church, a nondenominational church based in Troy, plans to break ground today (6/22/17) on 33.1 acres in Clinton Township, according to a news release from the church. Buildout of the 61,000-square-foot worship center on the south side of Hall Road between Gratiot and I-94 is expected to cost about $14 million, said Kristin Twilla, director of property development for the church. The new facility, which will be equipped with 1,300 seats, a large lobby with a fireplace, and a kids area, is being funded through a three-year, $30 million capital campaign across all the church’s campuses, said Melissa Thwing, a spokeswoman for the church.
